According to BetMGM, a fortunate player from Michigan at an online casino hit the $1 million progressive slot prize this week with just a 40-cent wager.

The five-reel slot machine Bison Fury has an American wilderness theme. The standard game and bonus spins on the slot machine offer players over a thousand possibilities to win.

Huge Wins at BetMGM

In addition to the $1 million online slot machine win in Michigan, MGM also revealed that a Pittsburgh player had struck it rich. According to the firm, a Pittsburgh gambler who used the Borgata Online Casino won $525,726.

According to MGM, the woman's wealth was acquired through the MGM Grand Millions Megaways slot machine. The slot machine, which has five reels and 243 chances to win, is another title developer exclusive for MGM's online casino operations.

"BetMGM congratulates the recent winners at Borgata Online and BetMGM on their big jackpots. We love making moments like this even more memorable through our new jackpot program,” a release from BetMGM read.

More than $138 million in slot jackpots were given by MGM's online casino platforms last year, a 32% increase from the previous year. Over half of the loot was found at Bison Fury and MGM Grand Million Megaways.

Combined, the BetMGM casino platforms—which include its affiliate businesses like Borgata Online—offer more than 2,700 interactive games.

Case Proceeded

In unrelated BetMGM news, a Michigan lady who believed she had won millions when playing online was informed that her account's suggestion that she had won $11 million after paying it with just $50 was due to a computer fault.

Detroit native Jacqueline Davis claimed that she spent hours playing online roulette on BetMGM in 2022 as her winnings kept adding up. When she finally chose to cash out, her account balance had dropped to almost $3 million due to a losing streak.

Davis traveled to Detroit's MGM Motor City to pick up a cash advance on her earnings. She was given $100K and instructed to come back the following day to pick up the remaining funds. But when Davis got back, she was told that there had been a problem with the BetMGM platform and that the remaining portion of her expected reward would not be sent.

In exchange for signing a nondisclosure agreement promising not to mention the error in public, Davis was assured she could retain the $100,000. Rather, she filed a lawsuit.

Since then, state courts have supported MGM; however, on May 29, the Michigan Supreme Court took the case. At a later time, each side will have 20 minutes to present the high court with their claims and defense.
